How to burn an ISO on OS X

Burning an ISO disc image on Mac OS X can be confusing if you’ve never done it before.  It took me a couple tries and some searching to figure out how to do it, so hopefully this article will make it easier for you.

The process is actually fairly simple, it’s just a matter of clicking the correct buttons at the right time. Here’s how to do it:

  • Insert a blank disc into your CD drive
  • Open Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility)
  • Click “File” then “Open Disk Image.” In the window that comes up, select the ISO file that you would like to burn. Click “Open”
  • Select the .iso file in the bar on the left.
  • Click “Burn” at the top. You may be prompted to confirm; just follow any prompts that come up.

That’s all there is to it. Enjoy!
