So today Microsoft announced that they will be releasing their new operating system in the next couple years. Due to the failure of Windows Vista, Microsoft has decided to go back to a ridiculous naming system and call it Windows 7. Whew!!!! Can’t wait to upgrade from Windows 6, oh wait there is none! Well Microsoft nice try but really is 7 the best name you can come up with? I have been a Windows XP user ever since it came out along with some light Mac OS X usage on my laptop. Overall though I have been very pleased with XP, it would of been nice if they could of just cleaned up XP a bit and added some more features. Oh well, what a let down, thanks again Microsoft and I hope Windows 7 does great!

I was writing a program recently, and I needed a function that would convert a given decimal number to 2’s Complement (signed) binary. It’s simple enough to convert an unsigned integer to binary, but the sign (especially 2’s comp) makes it tricky. Since I couldn’t find a function to do this for me, I decided to write my own. It may not be the prettiest method, but it’s simple and effective. [Read more →]
